Question: How do you usually spend your free time?

In my free time, I usually go for a walk or ride my bicycle. It helps me relax after a busy day, and I enjoy being outdoors. At weekends, I sometimes meet friends or explore somewhere new.

Tip: Use your own experiences. You do not need to memorise this answer.

Part 2 — Individual Long Turn

Describe a place you visited that you would like to visit again.

You should say:

A place I would love to visit again is a coastal town I visited a few years ago. I went there during a short holiday with my family. We walked along the beach, tried local food and watched the sunset near the harbour.

What made the visit special was the relaxed atmosphere. Unlike a busy city, the town felt peaceful, and we could enjoy simple activities without rushing. I would like to return because I did not have enough time to explore the surrounding area. Next time, I would stay longer and visit nearby villages.

Answer structure: Introduce the place → describe your visit → explain your feelings → say what you would do next time.

Part 3 — Discussion

Suggested time: 4 minutes

Develop your answers. Give reasons, examples and comparisons rather than answering with only one sentence.

Topic: Travel, tourism and society

1. Why do people enjoy visiting places that are different from where they live?
2. How has technology changed the way people plan holidays?
3. Does tourism bring more benefits or problems to local communities?
4. Should governments spend more money protecting natural places or developing tourist attractions?
5. How might people's travel habits change in the future?

Question: Does tourism bring more benefits or problems to local communities?

I think tourism can bring substantial benefits, particularly by creating jobs and supporting local businesses. For example, visitors spend money on accommodation, restaurants and guided tours. However, too many tourists can cause overcrowding, higher prices and environmental damage. In my view, the key issue is how responsibly tourism is managed.
